Third Party Characters Who Deserve to Be In the Next Super Smash Bros

Smash Bros. Third-Party Characters

Smash Bros. Third-Party Characters

Ever since Brawl, the Super Smash Bros. series has welcomed characters outside of Nintendo to join in on the fight. The move turned out to be a good one, as it ensures that fans have something to look forward to in future entries.

Assuming that there will be a sequel to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the Switch 2, there will also likely be a ton of excitement when speculating who would be part of the new roster. While it's impossible to tell which characters could end up in the next game, we can at least hope that Nintendo adds those that everyone can be satisfied with. As for who those may be, a few big names come to mind.

1. Dante From Devil May Cry

Among the potential Super Smash Bros. guest fighters, Dante is one that many fans have requested. Aside from his charming personality, the reason why people want him as a playable character is due to the seemingly limitless potential he brings.

In the Devil May Cry series of games, he is known for wielding a variety of weapons, which opens up many possibilities for the kind of moves he could perform. He may even be something akin to Shulk, being able to switch between different attack styles to adapt to the situation, making him a versatile fighter that's highly engaging to use.

2. Doom Slayer From the Doom Series

While the Doom series is known for being extremely gruesome, its main character would still make for an odd fit in the next game's roster. Nintendo may have even considered the idea, given that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate contains a Doom Slayer Mii fighter costume, but decided against it for one reason or another.

The company still has the opportunity to turn him into a fighter in a potential sequel to the series, but will likely heavily tone down his brutal nature. Even with that happening, it would be a great inclusion, as many people want to play as the slayer of demons and see what kind of new weapons he could wield in a game like Smash Bros.

3. Master Chief From Halo

Halo is arguably one of the most popular third-person shooters, and it is responsible for producing an iconic character that many have come to love: Master Chief. The supersoldier has brought about many exciting gameplay moments and memories to all those who've played as him, and he could make many more if he were added to a Smash Bros. roster.

Master Chief has all the makings of a good fighter, with his proficiency in wielding a wide array of weapons and his excellent close-quarter combat skills. Also, his inclusion could lead to some interesting and even hilarious interactions with the rest of the cast, which is likely one of the biggest reasons many people want to see him added.

4. Shadow the Hedgehog From the Sonic Series

This Sonic character is certainly darker and more edgy than his bluer and more charismatic counterpart, but it's one of the reasons why many people want to see him in a Smash Bros. game. With all the Shadow has been through and the growth he has seen throughout the games he has been on, he has been able to capture the hearts of many, making him a popular choice for a third-party addition.

Adding him into a potential Super Smash Bros. sequel shouldn't even be too difficult, as he can act similarly to how Daisy echoes Peach, having a moveset similar to Sonic's but with a few small differences.

5. Rayman From the Rayman Series

Rayman is one of the more popular characters produced by Ubisoft and would make the most sense to be added to a Super Smash Bros. roster. His entire being feels as if he were made to be in a platformer fighter, given what he has shown throughout the games he has been in.

With his ability to hover and the creative ways he uses his hands to attack, he would surely be an interesting Smash Bros. fighter. Also, his color scheming fits well with the tone of the series, further emphasizing why he would make a great addition to a potential sequel's roster.

6. Crash Bandicoot From the Crash Bandicoot Series

Crash Bandicoot is an extremely popular figure in the world of Sony, and like Rayman, he feels as if he were designed to be in a platformer fighter. The character can jump great heights, has an iconic spinning attack, and a variety of special moves, which is basically everything that makes a great Super Smash Bros. character.

Having him in would also allow fans to do something they've been wanting to for a long time: set up a battle between the iconic representatives of Sony, Nintendo, and Sega. That alone should be enough reason to add Crash Bandicoot into the next potential Smash Bros. game.

While these characters would make for great fighters, again, there's no telling who could end up in the roster of the next entry in the series. However, all of the ones mentioned would certainly help make a future Smash Bros. game more popular than ever, and hopefully, Nintendo will consider adding them.
