Want to know how to find Saria in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time? Despite modern conveniences that help players on their journey, Nintendo’s remake of the beloved 1998 classic still leaves players a bit lost and wandering as they try to progress through the story.
At some point in the story, you’ll need to play a certain song for a very grumpy Goron: "Saria’s Song," perhaps the most iconic and my personal favorite track in Ocarina of Time. Finding her can be tricky, but don’t worry, as I’m here to help.
Whether you’re a newcomer or someone who perhaps doesn’t have the original game, I’ll tell you exactly where to find Saria in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Where to Find Saria in Ocarina of Time
Saria will be located at a place called the Sacred Grove, deep within the Lost Woods. It’s a tricky maze that has one big clue that’ll help you solve it: sound.

By following Saria’s ocarina tune, you’ll be able to correctly determine which way you need to take in order to reach her. Get close to a path. If you only hear a faint sound in the distance, that’s not it, but if you can hear it crystal clear, that’s your cue.
Choose the wrong one, and you’ll be sent all the way back to the start. If you can’t pay attention to the sound cues, I’ve got your cheat sheet ready. Simply follow these directions, starting from the beginning:
- Turn right in the first room.
- Turn left in the second room.
- Turn right in the third room.
- Turn left in the fourth room.
- Go straight through the fifth room.
- Turn left in the sixth room.
- Turn right in the seventh room.
By following this sequence, you’ll finally reach the Sacred Grove. Go through a small section filled with enemies that you can dispatch quickly by reflecting their projectiles with your shield, and you’ll eventually find Saria playing her ocarina.
She’ll teach you "Saria’s Song," letting you progress through Goron City and other places where it might come in handy.
And that’s it. Stick with us at Gfinity: your go-to source for all things The Legend of Zelda.
