Monster Hunter Wilds is now three months old, and fans are eager for more content. The game’s player base has been noticeably declining this month due to the lack of meaningful endgame updates.
The good news is that a new event seems to be on the way, possibly arriving alongside the upcoming Title Update 1.5. According to a recent social media post, Monster Hunter Wilds’ first collaboration event will be with Street Fighter 6, teased with a Palico paw print paired with Street Fighter 6’s signature graffiti style.
While there are no official details yet, fans are already speculating. We might see a new set of Layered Armors for our Hunters, perhaps another Akuma skin like in past Monster Hunter titles, or fresh gear inspired by Chun-Li or another character who hasn’t appeared in previous collaborations.
Layered Weapons are separate since Monster Hunter Wilds doesn’t feature them yet. Still, the Street Fighter 6 collaboration could launch on the same day as Title Update 1.5, which is expected to add 8-Star Hunts and introduce Layered Weapons for the first time.
This collaboration might be just what the game needs right now. Players have grown bored during the current content drought, and until Title Update 1.5 or even Title Update 2 with Lagiacrus arrives, Monster Hunter Wilds will likely continue to see a drop in concurrent Steam players. That said, fluctuating player numbers have always been a natural part of the series.
There is no official release date for the Street Fighter 6 Collaboration Event yet, but based on Capcom’s teaser, it may arrive in mid-June.
