It’s finally happening! The series’ most iconic Leviathan is making its way to Monster Hunter Wilds in the upcoming Summer Update.
This Leviathan will undoubtedly play a major role in every hunt, as players crave an even more challenging combat experience. However, fans are already speculating that it could be a new raid boss, similar to what Monster Hunter World did with Safi’Jiva and Alatreon.
No one knows for certain what Lagiacrus’ moveset will be, but veteran hunters have a good idea of what to expect. This thunder Leviathan is notorious for supercharging its body to unleash devastating attacks.
Fans first discovered Lagiacrus’ presence in the game through early leaked files. Dataminers have even uncovered what appears to be its nest in the Scarlet Forest, potentially the location for the raid event.
Fans have wondered if there’s going to be a swimming mechanic involved with its raid, as there are plenty of scripted swimming events found in the Scarlet Forest as well.
Additionally, dataminers have found evidence of Seregios and Zinogre in the game’s data files, suggesting that these fan-favorite monsters may also return—stronger than ever.
Monster Hunter Wilds’ free Title Update 1 is shaping up to be Capcom’s biggest update yet. It introduces a brand-new Gathering Hub for players to explore, an HR hunt featuring Zoh Shia, and the return of the Leviathan Mizutsune. Title Update 1 launches on April 4—check out our separate article for a full breakdown of what’s coming.
As for the Summer Title Update, a release date is yet to be announced. However, we can expect it to arrive sometime in early or mid-June.
