The first game, released in 2020, took everyone by surprise, stealing the limelight from new console launches and becoming many gamers' Game of the Year. Supergiant already has a massive amount of content that dwarfs what the original game offered.

At the moment, there is no official release date for Hades 2 1.0. The game, despite receiving multiple major updates, is still in early access.

It's expected that Supergiant Games will unveil the release date in the coming months, as it has been confirmed The Unseen is the final major update during the early access period.

For further context, the first Hades game shipped in early access in December 2018. The game was eventually released on multiple platforms with the 1.0 update in September 2020, after an almost two-year development period.

When Did Hades 2 Early Access Start?

Hades 2 launched in early access in May 2024.

Based on the previous game's timeline, it's possible that the 1.0 launch will end up happening around late 2025. But again, it's not entirely exact science so it could be earlier or be delayed into 2026.

How Many Updates Did Hades 2 Get In Early Access?

Hades 2 early access got three major content drops during early access. On top of that, smaller patches focusing on quality-of-life improvements were also released.

The three major updates were:

  • The Olympic Update: Released in October 2024. It added new regions, weapons, and characters
  • The Warsong Update: Released in February 2025. It added one final God and all his boons (Ares) and the final surface boss
  • The Unseen Update: Release in June 2025. It added more Vows to the Oath of the Unseen and new weapon aspects
