If you are, you might wonder how to upgrade your Perks using the Research Points Center. This is how FBC: Firebreak’s progression system works: each Perk grants a powerful stat bonus to help you and your allies survive the Oldest House.
Upgrading Perks requires Lost Assets (found throughout the game and after every Job) and Corrupted Research Samples. Here’s how to get them:
How to Find Lost Assets in FBC: Firebreak
Lost Assets are the general resource in FBC: Firebreak. You can earn them by doing almost anything: completing missions, collecting them in the environment (like Files or Briefcases), and occasionally from defeating Powerful Enemies.
Keep in mind: Lost Assets drop when a player dies and redeploys. Another player must then retrieve them to extract the items successfully. However, a Downed player won’t drop Lost Assets or any other resources they carry.
What Are Corrupted Research Samples?
Corrupted Research Samples are the key resource for upgrading Perks in FBC: Firebreak.
You can only get them in Corrupted levels, which become available once you finish a Level 3 Clearance Difficulty Job. The higher the Corruption level, the better the chances that an Altered Item (Helmet, Saw, Fire Extinguisher, Traffic Light, etc.) will spawn.
Destroying an Altered Item using a Black Rock weapon guarantees a drop of a Corrupted Item, depending on the Job. Each of FBC: Firebreak’s five Jobs drops a unique type of Corrupted Item.
How to Find Resonant Globs
Resonant Globs are found in the ‘Frequency Shift’ Job with Corruption enabled.
They’re scattered around the area and can be recognized by their green color. Be careful, they resemble the pink corruption blobs, so avoid stepping on the wrong mass to prevent getting corrupted.
How to Find Achromatic Sand
Achromatic Sand is found in the ‘Ground Control’ Job with Corruption active.
You might encounter it while collecting irradiated Orbs to fuel the trolley or while taking down airborne Leech. Make sure an Altered Item is nearby; defeating it guarantees the drop.
How to Find Viscous Strips
Viscous Strips appear in the ‘Paper Chase’ Job with Corruption.
This job is chaos, with sticky paper spreading everywhere. Viscous Strips are yellow, making them tricky to spot among the mess, but a sharp eye will help you pick them out.
How to Find Whispering Ash
Whispering Ash also appears in ‘Paper Chase’ with Corruption.
This is one of the toughest Jobs in the game due to constant burning status effects. Bring a Spray Kit class to help you survive the heat.
How to Find Numbed Splinters
Numbed Splinters are found in the ‘Freezer Duty’ Job with Corruption.
After dealing with Freezing Anomalies, you’ll spot Altered Items around the area. These look like blue liquid. They’re easy to identify, but watch out for the freezing status effect, which can drastically slow you down.
And that’s about it. This list will be updated as more Corrupted Research Samples arrive in FBC: Firebreak. For more game guides, stick with us here at Gfinityesports.com, the best website for Remedy Entertainment content.
