Danganronpa 2x2’s Slayhem Mode Needs to Get Rid of Its Most Insufferable Character

According to Spike Chunsoft, Slayhem Mode will be an alternate timeline with a new story - and that includes class trials with new victims and blackened. While I'm excited to see how they spin this new tale, there's one character I do not want to see for long, if at all.

And that's Teruteru Hanamura. I loathe this character so much that I hope he gets a swift axe in the new story.

I know I'm not the only one who thinks Teruteru is THE most insufferable character in the entire Danganronpa franchise. Whenever he opens his mouth, it's either explicit innuendo, creepy food analogies, or perversion towards the female characters. It's sickening - and I don't know if I can stand it if he lives for a long time in Danganronpa 2x2's Slayhem Mode.

I get that the narrative tries to humanize Teruteru during his execution by revealing his insecurities and his love for his mother, but that honestly just disgusted me more. You're telling me this character who loves his mother is gross to the female characters? Please. It isn't funny - it's disgusting.

The whole reason I'm excited for Danganronpa 2x2's Slayhem Mode is that it features a whole new story, with new victims and new murderers. But the thought of Teruteru being part of the game genuinely makes me dread playing it. I can't imagine having to endure his disgusting commentary during class trials, and I know I'm definitely avoiding him during free-time events.

In the original game, he was the first student to get executed after he killed the Ultimate Imposter. We were freed from his perversion early on, and as sad as it is to name one of the students as the blackened, I was glad Teruteru was the first one gone. I'm hoping that despite the alternate timeline in Slayhem Mode, they'll still opt to give Teruteru an early (or immediate) exit.

I'm excited for the fresh twists we'll experience in Danganronpa 2x2's Slayhem Mode - I just hope Teruteru won't play much part in it.
