As expected, Cyberpunk 2077 and Hogwarts Legacy will run at 30fps on a docked Switch 2.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is launching with an array of games as more join the lineup in the future, leading to speculation about how these titles will perform on the new system.

Cyberpunk 2077 and Hogwarts Legacy are just two of the games coming to the Switch 2, and thanks to French YouTuber Julien Chieze, we now know the frame rates both will target.

According to Chieze, who provided live coverage from the Switch 2 Direct event, Hogwarts runs at 4K 30fps and isn't on par with PS5 or Xbox Series X versions of the game graphically. There is a handheld mode that runs at 1080p, while a Nintendo staff member also mentioned 120fps, although this was most likely a mistake.

Meanwhile, Cyberpunk has two modes—Quality Mode and Performance Mode. While docked, Quality Mode targets 1080p at 30fps, and Performance Mode targets 1080p and up to 40fps. Like Hogwarts Legacy, it was stated that Cyberpunk is not on par with the graphics available on PS5 or Xbox Series X.

Since this information was shared at Switch Direct, CD Projekt Red has provided more clarity on Cyberpunk 2077's Switch 2 performance, confirming they're targeting 1080p docked and 720p in handheld mode, with 30-40fps depending on what mode is selected.

As many have pointed out, 720p at 40fps in handheld mode along with a variable refresh rate is pretty good going and ensures a smoother, tear-free gameplay experience.

While Cyberpunk may not be able to take advantage of the Switch 2's 4K support, it is still set to be one of the most graphically impressive launch day games, which will no doubt look amazing through the system's 7.9-inch LCD display.
