The Nintendo Switch 2 launches worldwide on June 5, and players are already eager to get their hands on Nintendo’s next-generation console. Packed with a 7.9-inch LCD display, 4K support, and exclusive titles like The Duskblood (2026) by FromSoftware, the Nintendo Switch 2 is by far the company’s most powerful console to date.

And what better way to showcase its hardware than with games that look really, really good? Here are the most graphically impressive launch games for the Nintendo Switch 2. Note that this list only includes games available on launch day.

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition

It’s clear that Cyberpunk 2077 will be visually impressive when it arrives on the Nintendo Switch 2. I mean, it already looked good when CD Projekt Red launched on the PlayStation 4 back in the day, despite some technical issues.

With the Switch 2’s improved hardware (comparable to the Steam Deck) Night City is going to be an incredible sight, whether played handheld or docked. As we roam the streets of Night City as V, we’ll soak in the neon-lit skyline oozing with dystopian flair. And if you’re wondering, yes, this edition includes the Phantom Liberty expansion, offering 30–40 hours of new story content.

There’s no official confirmation on whether the game will run at 60fps, but given that the Switch 2 is as powerful as the Xbox Series S (and the game runs well on the Series S) it’s safe to say it should hit that mark without any issues. Hopefully.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild & Tears of the Kingdom

Of course, Nintendo isn’t going to ignore its open-world Zelda games—these titles are practically begging to be showcased on more powerful hardware. Finally, Korok Forest won’t run abysmally on the Switch 2.

With Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, players can return to a post-apocalyptic Hyrule in 60fps at 1080p for just ten dollars—if they already own the game and want to upgrade to the Switch 2 version. (P.S. Upgrading will be free for existing Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Subscribers.)

The upgrade also introduces Zelda Notes, a companion app for your phone that lets you explore the game’s world and lore in more detail.

Split Fiction

One of the best-reviewed games of the year and a strong Game of the Year contender is also making its way to the Switch 2. Josef Fares, creator of It Takes Two, proudly announced that his latest title will be available on Nintendo’s new console.

Not only is this game built on Unreal Engine 5, but it also runs impressively well on the Switch 2, based on gameplay snippets shown during the latest Direct. With its unique blend of sci-fi and fantasy, Split Fiction promises a thrilling adventure. Plus, with the Switch 2’s new magnetic Joy-Cons, it’s the perfect launch title to enjoy with a friend as you zip and zap across genre-bending stories. You can check our review of Split Fiction here.

Hogwarts Legacy

Everyone knows that the original Hogwarts Legacy port for the Nintendo Switch was…rough. Fortunately, this new version for the Switch 2 aims to fix the issues that plagued the previous release. Now, you can soar over Hogsmeade and explore Hogwarts without worrying about dropped frames, long loading times, or blurry textures—all thanks to the Switch 2’s improved hardware.

This edition also introduces Nintendo’s new Joy-Con mouse gimmick, allowing players to swish and flick their wands for a more immersive spell-casting experience.

Street Fighter 6: Fighters Edition

Street Fighter 6 will be the first Capcom RE Engine title to be natively ported to a Nintendo Switch console. Street Fighter 6 will be the most visually impressive fighting game on the platform—a massive step up, especially when compared to Mortal Kombat 1’s performance on the original Switch.

To celebrate its launch on the Switch 2, the game comes with three Amiibos, and a bundle that will grant players access to Year 1 and Year 2 of the Fighters Pass, including newly released characters like Mai and the upcoming Elena.

Mario Kart World

It wouldn’t be a Nintendo console launch without Mario Kart. Mario Kart World serves as the latest entry in the beloved racing series, evolving the franchise while keeping the core fun intact—whether playing solo or with friends.

The game’s standout feature is its seamless, open-world-inspired structure, allowing players to race through iconic Mario locations without loading screens. It’s essentially Nintendo’s answer to Forza Horizon, and it’s a perfect fit for the platform.
