The Switch 2’s price is here, coming in at a staggering $449.99 if fans just want to get this system by itself. Racing enthusiasts can also pick up a $499.99 bundle if they want the console to come with Mario Kart World. Considering how well bundles of the Switch 1 sold with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, this is a pretty smart move.

Nintendo announced the price of their new console after the highly-anticipated Switch 2 Direct, letting fans know how much this handheld will be. In addition to that, pre-orders for the new console are going to start on April 9, making fans wait a whole week before they can even touch this system. Hopefully, this will prevent scalpers from trying to buy the system right away, but that’s not guaranteed.

Starting the Direct off with Mario Kart World was a very smart move, and making it a Switch 2 launch title is even better. For an additional $50, that’s not the worst deal in the world, even if fans would have preferred it if the game were a pack-in. It’s also a shame that the copy of World is going to be digital, but that’s also what Nintendo did with previous Switch bundles.

Expect this new system to sell like hotcakes, especially with that bundle. Coming out with Mario Kart World is going to make Nintendo a lot of money, so the holiday season is going to be pretty packed. Gamers with families will want to get this new gaming bundle to make their little Mario kids happy.
