The post-launch reception to Monster Hunter Wilds has been interesting, to say the least. Fans have been pretty negative about some of the added quests and the lack of endgame content. While there are legitimate gripes here, some players took it too far and started threatening some of the Capcom developers who are just trying to make things better.

As a result, Capcom has announced a new customer harassment policy. In a report from It Media (translated by Dotoo from the MH Wilds subreddit), the company confirmed that various employees have been harassed, received personal attacks, and threatened with physical harm. This is why the company introduced this new policy.

Essentially, if Capcom devs continue to face further harassment from specific fans, they’re allowed to refuse support and give services. If these devs get pushed, Capcom can even pursue legal action against these fans, who could get criminal records. Considering how various fans have overreacted to some of the Monster Hunter Wilds content, this might be an appropriate course of action.

Capcom has definitely been at fault when it comes to the way some of Wilds' post-game content has been handled. Quests have been criticized for being too easy or not having enough depth. Each Title Update released for Wilds has been a fan's hope for an experience that will make them feel like hunters again.

However, all of that legitimate criticism can be dismissed if players threaten these developers. Unfortunately, a lot of Monster Hunter Wilds fans are misguided and overly emotional, hence, attacking these employees.

It’s shocking to see so much backlash for a game that was originally met with praise from fans and critics alike. How this went from one of Capcom’s best ever titles to a middling entry in this legendary series is truly surprising. That doesn’t mean fans have the right to harass these devs, but we do hope a turnaround is happening soon.
