Codes are not the only way to get free stuff right from the get-go

If you’re a Destiny 2 player, you can also get an exclusive emblem by completing tasks in Destiny: Rising. So even if you don’t intend to fully commit to Destiny Rising, you’ll at least get something worthwhile for your time.
How To Redeem Codes in Destiny: Rising

- After you login, open the Settings menu by tapping the cog icon or pressing left on your controller D-pad if you're using one
- Scroll down until you reach the 'Others' option and tap it
- On the right side of the screen tap the Redeem button and type the code you want to redeem
