Wardogs topped Steam revenue charts for September after reportedly selling over 3.2 million copies, bringing in an estimated $86.9 million.

Figures provided by Alinea Analytics show that Wardogs alone represented about a third of September's new-2026-IP revenue on Steam, making over $50 million more than Onimusha: Way of the Sword, as well as surpassing The Blood of Dawnwalker, FC 27, and Control Resonant.

The first-person shooter, which is developed by Bulkhead and published by Team17, was released to huge success after entering PC early access on September 10, with gamers appreciating its high-stakes 100-player combat, deep tactical freedom, and a rewarding cash economy with no microtransactions.

Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer recently took to social media and admitted that the studio had been "a bit overwhelmed with the response", revealing "a good chunk of the team" were forced to take holiday due to "the sheer amount of physical and mental exhaustion."

Brammer added, "But we’re here for the long haul, we’re in a position where we can try make 1.0 and beyond exactly what we want it to be, no compromises, that’s the dream right?"

It has since been announced that Wardogs will eventually land on consoles in 2028 as preparations continue for the arrival of Season 2 on October 15. Although details currently remain limited, the introduction of rainy weather is set to add an extra layer of immersion, affecting player visibility. A progression wipe is also expected to debut, ensuring everyone is on the same playing field with ranks and unlocks reset.
