Fans have been eagerly anticipating the console release of Delta Force since its PC launch late last year. Thankfully, after six months, a release date for the console port of this shooter has officially been revealed. It won’t be long before console users can give this reboot a shot and find out if it lives up to the hype.
The game’s official X page has confirmed that Delta Force will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series on August 19. Like the PC version, this tactical military shooter will be free-to-play with microtransactions, so anyone will be able to try it out. Cross-progression and Cross-play have also been confirmed, so console players can jump on with their PC friends.
Single-player fans will also have the free Black Hawk Down DLC campaign to play through. The devs at Team Jade said this mode is a tribute to the movie and 2003 game that came out more than 20 years ago. Gamers on the Steam page have said that this campaign can be troublesome when played solo, but there is a co-op option for those who need an ally.
Delta Force has received mixed reactions from PC players, which is usually the case with these free-to-play shooters. However, player numbers have been consistently high, showing that the game has found an audience. It will be interesting to see if that translates on console, though we doubt anyone will complain about trying a free shooter.
Fans will be able to access Delta Force on PS5 and Xbox Series systems on August 19. The game is readily available on PC, as is the Black Hawk Down campaign DLC.
