- Quick Answer: Neon has been disabled from PC due to a graphic exploit and she will come back in patch 12.09, Valorant are making changes to her ability set.
Valorant have announced that Neon will be temporarily disabled from the game's PC version until the launch of patch 12.09 after finding a graphics exploit that "affects competitive integrity."
The release date for patch 12.09 is yet to be unveiled. Given that patch 12.08 was released on April 30, we expect the next patch to be launched in a week or two.
According to Valorant's statement, players could use the graphic exploit when triggering Neon's Fast Lane, which is one of Neon's most basic abilities. Fortunately, the bug was spotted quickly and, as in previous cases, Riot Games decided to simply disabling the agent; stopping all players from using her the wrong way.
Neon is one of Valorant's most controversial agents due to the strength of her ability kit. The Duelist is and has been extremely overpowered, ruling Valorant's meta with an iron fist for the past few months. However, her reign of terror may be about to end.
Valorant's post today also raised the developers' concerns regarding Neon's current ability kit and have teased some changes that will be introduced once Neon returns to the game in patch 12.09.
At the time of writing, Valorant's post on X (formerly known as Twitter) has gathered 4,6K reposts and 27K likes in just four hours. This is an indicator of how much needed a change in Neon's kit was.
