After fans were worried about the current Tariff situation affecting prices for all electronics, it was finally announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 will not have a price hike in North America. Even the announced bundle with Mario Kart World will stay the same price, which should be a relief to everyone in the US. While Nintendo fans won’t be free of paying for some tariffs, the base price of this console will remain the same.

It was announced by the company that the Switch 2 will still be $449.99 when it comes out this June. The bundle with Mario Kart World will also stay at $499.99, giving fans a $30 discount when getting this game alongside this console. Overall, it seems like fans in the North American scene are going to have no price increase issues, though securing the console is a whole other matter.

Fans will also be happy to know that the price of games won’t be getting a price increase either. Donkey Kong: Bananza will still be a $70 platformer, while Mario Kart World is going to be $80. These are still really expensive prices, especially for Nintendo games, but fans know the company isn’t their friend, and they’ll have to bite the bullet to play these games.

Now, not everything will be tariff-free, as Nintendo has confirmed that various Switch 2 accessories are going to get price raises because of these laws. It’s not going to be an ideal situation, especially for those who want extra cameras for Mario Party Jamboree, but that’s just what gamers have to deal with. This will bite players in the long run, as they will want to buy controllers and cameras for future multiplayer games.

Since the Switch 2 will now have normalized prices, we hope they stay this way for the duration of its life. There will be scapers who will buy early versions of the console and hike their prices, but that’s not the worst thing that can happen.
