- Quick Answer: A new report indicates that Capcom's strategy is to release the Resident Evil Requiem DLC after Veronica to fill the gap between big releases.
Resident Evil Requiem was a very successful launch for Capcom earlier in the year, propelling the franchise forward and even spanning the development of a DLC.
The DLC rumors were prominent when the game released, and it was officially confirmed on March 10, less than two weeks after the game's launch. However, Capcom didn't provide a release window or any details about what new story it will tell or which character(s) it will follow.
Now, it appears that players will have to wait several more months to revisit the title (in case they already finished it). According to Dusk Golem, a prominent Capcom leaker, the studio will release Requiem's DLC after Resident Evil Veronica comes out.

Through a series of posts on their X account, the leaker explained that Capcom appears to be "investing into doing more lengthy story DLC in the future of RE," comparing the length and ambition to the likes of previous DLCs such as Separate Ways from Resident Evil 4 or Shadow of Rose from Resident Evil Village.
Golem claimed that these DLCs will work as experimental side stories for the franchise and will also "help fill their schedule of releases in-between the bigger RE games."
In a different post, the leaker also revealed that pre-production for the new remake of Resident Evil 1 started a year ago, in late August-September of 2025, and will probably enter full production once Veronica's development is finished, as the game is currently in its crunch period.
Veronica is slated to release in 2027, and although a specific release date hasn't been announced, we expect to see it come out sometime in the first half of the year if everything goes to plan. With that in mind, it feels like the Requiem DLC could be at least a year away.
Requiem is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
