Riot Games Needs to Stop Gatekeeping Valorant Mobile and Launch It Globally

Watching China play Valorant Mobile on TikTok is torture. I need Riot to launch it globally!

  • Primary Subject: Valorant Mobile (iOS & Android)
  • Key Update: An opinion piece urges Riot Games to expand Valorant Mobile beyond its region-locked China beta and launch the tactical shooter globally.
  • Status: Unconfirmed (Beta restricted to China)
  • Last Verified: August 18, 2026
  • Quick Answer: Valorant Mobile remains exclusive to China, but mobile FPS fans are calling on Riot Games for a worldwide release date update soon.

I have a few games that are constantly in my rotation, and one of them is Valorant.

It was probably the game I played the most in the past two years. I initially started Valorant to connect with friends, but over time, I became addicted to queuing Competitive solo and ranking up. In fact, it's the game that got me glued to my PC and opened up other shooter games to me.

But before playing Valorant on my PC, I was a huge mobile gamer. When Apex Legends was on mobile, I was on it every day. My home country even had Call of Duty: Mobile, and I played that like no tomorrow. My love for fun mobile games has me wishing for one thing: for Valorant Mobile to launch worldwide ASAP.

Riot, Please Release Valorant Mobile

Currently, Valorant Mobile is only available in China. Despite that, I've seen plenty of clips on my timeline and even streams on TikTok Live. Every time I see something about the game, a part of my soul dies. Sure, I love playing on PC, but there are times when I want to scratch my Valorant itch while I'm out and about or lying in bed.

In those videos, I've seen the controls look clean, and the game runs smoothly. For a year, I've been waiting patiently. But I'm getting impatient. I want to feel the excitement of reviving as Clove on my iPhone screen right now.

There are some things I'm worried about, of course, but I have high hopes that Riot won't let me down. As a whale, I've dropped a pretty penny on gun skins. I hope that once it launches on mobile, I can still equip my Evori Vandal or my Mystbloom Phantom. I'm praying that the shooting and aiming feel crisp and that the ranked system is separate from the PC and PS5 rankings.

Riot has proved that they can do mobile games well with Wild Rift, so I'm sure my worries will be calmed once the game drops - and I hope it's soon.

Valorant Mobile has been in its beta phase for a year, restricting itself to Chinese players. It's time to open up the server gates and launch the game worldwide. I want to insta-lock my favorite agent wherever I go, whenever I want. Hopefully we get an update during Gamescom 2026 - fingers crossed.
