It features Pokemon that aren't included in the base game, such as Manaphy, Popplio, and Snubbull. It also shows Peakychu wearing a headpiece and wings, and Snubbull dressed in a bowtie. The Pokemon in outfits fall in line with Nintendo's promise of “new furniture, outfits, and Pokemon friends."

However, there's one other detail in the Expansion Pass art that caught people's eyes.

Next to Peakychu and Snubbull are sparkles. Eagle-eyed Pokemon fans noticed that the same sparkle graphic is used to identify Shiny Pokemon on a Pokemon's summary page. This can be found in games such as Pokemon Scarlet & Violet and Pokemon Legends: Z-A.
