Pokémon fans have eaten well today. The reveal of Pokémon's tenth generation, which will be playable in the upcoming titles Pokémon Winds and Waves, has stolen the show in what has been a Pokémon Day for the books: Browt, Bombon, and Gecqua, their starters, have already stolen the hearts of all of Pokémon's fans.
However, today has also been a good day for those OG Pokémon fans. A few days ago, Nintendo revealed that Pokémon Red and Green's remakes would be released on the Switch. Although a lot of fans got thrilled, a big part of the community complained about their prices: each title was listed for USD$20.
Truth be told, seeing two titles like Pokémon Red and Green being listed for a combined tally of USD$40 is too much. After all, these titles are over 20 years old. In fact, the only thing that has changed is their names: the titles are now known as Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.
Only a couple hours after their debut in Nintendo's store, fans found one (or, let's say, three) reason to purchase the titles: it has been confirmed that Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen include Ho-Oh, Luigia, and Deoxys events.
These events definitely upgrade the experience offered by Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. For some context, these events were exclusive to certain regions, and only people who attended the events would be able to have access to the events. In other words, back in the day, it was very hard to own event-exclusive Pokémons.
This isn't the case anymore. These three legendary Pokémon, Ho-Oh, Luigia, and Deoxys have been included in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, and it's not very difficult to get them. You simply have to collect all of the gym badges and beat the Elite Four. That's it!
Surely, this will take you some time. You will have to build a strong Pokémon lineup to beat some of the best trainers in the region. However, right after beating the Elite Four, you will have access to the necessary items. You will find them in your Pokémon bag.
With Ho-Oh, Luigia, and Deoxys being part of the games, purchasing Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen for USD$20 each doesn't seem so expensive. After all, they offer events that were hard to unlock, and that many OG fans could never complete. Now, it's their time to shine.
