- Quick Answer: The Gen 10 Pokemon titles, Winds and Waves, have been officially revealed, and they're coming in 2027
No better way to celebrate the franchise's 30th anniversary than to finally reveal the next title in the main saga. Several months after upcoming projects and other information from The Pokemon Company got leaked, Pokemon Winds and Waves have been officially announced.
The two new games are set to take place in a tropical region, featuring several biomes such as mountains, swamps, beaches, and even volcanic areas. The trailer shows the main characters exploring all those areas, hinting that the new games will follow the recent franchise's trend and be open-world titles.
We also got a first look at the brand-new starters: Browt (grass type), Pombon (fire type), and Gecqua (water type).

Right before revealing the new games' titles, the trailer gives us a quick look at the underwater areas in the region, suggesting that diving and exploring underwater could also be part of this new game.
If you haven't watched it or if you missed the Pokemon Presents, here is the trailer:
As expected, GameFreak is developing the new games, coming from the release of Pokemon Legends Z-A in October last year. The company has been the main developer for the franchise's main titles ever since Pokemon Red and Green were released. We have seen other studios come in and work on alternate titles like ILCA on Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Pokemon Winds and Waves is scheduled to release sometime in 2027 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2, meaning the original Switch owners will have to upgrade to be able to enjoy them.
