The Pokemon Company just made several major reveals, but their most anticipated game is Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

The game promises to bring a new spin on the classic Pokemon gameplay loop. While new Pokemon are expected to be introduced in the game, the two new trailers have confirmed a lot of existing Pokemon from previous gens of the game.

Two New Trailer for Pokemon Legends: Z-A

For context, check out the two trailers dropped for the game first. One trailer gives a general overview of Pokemon Legends: Z-A:

The other trailer is a deep dive into the game and its mechanics, looking at the new characters introduced, the gameplay loop of catching Pokemon, and the new way battles are played. Check it:

For this game, the main setting will be Lumiose City, an advanced city planned to be a haven for people and Pokemon alike. Like every Pokemon game, there's also a suspicious corporation running things, and for A, players will be introduced to Quasartico Inc., run by CEO Jett and her secretary Vinnie.

Players will also be paired up with a friend who looks to change depending on the gender of the player's avatar. Urbain is the male identity, and Taunie is the female one. Then again, this is Pokemon, so it's possible that they could be twins, and the game just makes one your friend while the other is your rival.

Mega Evolutions

While fans have been familiar with specific Pokemon and their evolutions for a while, a new mechanic in the game allows Mega Evolutions, giving characters like Charizard another step up the evolution ladder.

Interestingly enough, it doesn’t seem like these Mega Evolutions will be permanent, but they will be able to boost specific Pokemon for a limited period—at least, that’s what the trailers make it look like.

Hopefully, they will reveal more in time, especially with Z-A expecting to launch later in the year.

No specific release date has been set for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, but the game is expected to launch for the Nintendo Switch sometime later this year.
