Street Fighter 6 will be the first major fighting game coming to Switch 2, and it’s confirmed that Amiibo is still a part of Nintendo’s overall strategy. Fans weren’t sure if Amiibo would still be relevant by the time this new console came out, but it looks like the company still sees some potential in it. The most shocking part is that there are Amiibo figures and cards, bringing these collectibles back in a huge way.

Newcomers Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly will be the ones getting Amiibo for Nintendo’s new console when the game comes out later this year. While there are only three Amiibo figures announced, there will be 22 cards coming, likely featuring the entire roster. It makes sense to spotlight some of the game’s newcomers, all of whom have a major fanbase.

It’s a bit shocking not to see Amiibo for Ryu and Chun-Li in their new Street Fighter 6 looks. Then again, Ryu already has an Amiibo after he appeared in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as did his best friend Ken. Maybe these characters are going to get new Amiibo in the long run, but that’s going to take a while.

Fans picking up Street Fighter 6 on the Switch 2 will have all of the characters from the first two Season Passes. Elena is still about to come out, so it’s safe to assume that this port will be the most complete thus far. We expect this game to get even more DLC in the future, but the Switch port is off to a great start by having both passes right away.
