Capcom has recently unveiled new content for its first free Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds. In a 15-minute showcase, Monster Hunter Wilds Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto introduced new content, including new monsters, a Gathering Hub, and more.

Here’s everything coming in Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update 1:

Mizutsune Returns

The graceful Leviathan is back, ready to unleash bubbles and water streams on unsuspecting hunters. Mizutsune’s presence will definitely shake up the game’s “Arkveld again?” meta with its new armor and weapon skills, which are yet to be revealed.

In the trailer, Mizutsune showcases what appears to be a variety of new moves taken from its past variants. This suggests a more aggressive attack style, with high-damage explosive bubbles, and severe bubbleblight that will challenge even seasoned hunters.

High-Rank Zoh Shia Hunt

The final boss of Monster Hunter Wilds' Low Rank, Zoh Shia is ready for a High-Rank rematch.

The best part? Players can now unlock its High-Rank armor and weapons, which were missing from the base game.

Zoh Shia, The EDW

Zoh Shia is also known as the Equal Dragon Weapon (according to fans) and it was instrumental in Wyveria’s downfall. No one knows exactly what new supercharged abilities Zoh Shia will bring to the fight, but considering its strength in Low Rank, its High-Rank version is bound to be even more formidable.

The Grand Hub

One of the most requested features is making a comeback—the Grand Hub. This massive new Gathering Hub, located in Suja, is where hunters can socialize, grab a drink, and prepare for their next hunt, all while being serenaded by a singing Diva.

The Grand Hub also features new activities, including what looks like a bowling mode using Large Barrels. Classic Monster Hunter antics.

Arch-Tempered Rey Dau

For players seeking an extra challenge, the Arch-Tempered Rey Dau will be available as a free event quest. However, it won’t launch alongside Title Update 1—instead, it’s set to arrive later in April for a limited time. It’s expected the other Apexes will also arrive at a later date as well.

New Gamma variant armor sets for Rey Dau could introduce fresh meta-defining skill sets. But be warned: this flying wyvern, equipped with a railgun on its head, requires a Hunter Rank of 50 to take on.

Speedrunning Arena Quests

For the first time in series history, Monster Hunter is officially introducing Speedrunning and Leaderboards, challenging hunters to defeat monsters as quickly as possible. While speedrunning has long been a part of the community, Capcom is now reinventing its design by its new Arena approach that allows full party teams to participate in timed hunts.

Those who achieve the fastest completion times can show off their skills on the new Leaderboards, tracking the top hunters worldwide.

Additional Content

Title Update 1 also brings new cosmetics, including the ability to change Alma’s outfit, more purchasable accessories, and seasonal events in the Gathering Hub.

The free Title Update 1 arrives on April 4 for all consoles. Looking ahead, the Summer Update—expected in June—will feature the return of the iconic Leviathan, Lagiacrus.
