Part of the fun in playing Monster Hunter Wilds is the freedom to choose whichever armor piece you want for a specific body part, along with having the ability to bring two weapons at once. You need to keep hunting for materials from monsters such as Gore Magala, but that is never an easy task.
There are various types of equipment that you can bring with you while on assignments or exploration that can help with fighting the monsters. These include the mantles like the Rocksteady Mantle. However, those are not the only pieces of equipment that can provide you with some stat boosts.
The Powercharm and Armorcharm are important pieces of equipment we have seen and used in previous Monster Hunter titles. In this guide, you will learn about their effects, how to get them in Wilds, and how to apply them to your character.
Armorcharm
The Armorcharm is an amulet that you can carry which boosts your defense. As the item's description in-game states, "Just carrying this makes your skin stone hard." While it does not give a huge defense boost, it still helps as you would not need to worry too much about being one-shot by monsters.
Where to Get the Armorcharm
You will be able to acquire the Armorcharm by completing a certain Side Mission. You will need to progress through the game up until you meet Cobb and Rex. Just speak to Alma, "Post/Join Quest," then "Optional Quests."
Complete the Side Mission "Secure Wounded Hollow" when you are HR 16. You will need to hunt two Hirabamis. After that, you will receive the Armorcharm!
Powercharm
The Powercharm is an amulet that boosts your attack. The item's description states: "Just carrying this gives you demonic strength." You will notice this change when you check your weapon's attack stat when you have it on you. This will be around a 5-10% damage boost, which still helps a ton.
Where to Get the Powercharm
Like the Armorcharm, you can get the Powercharm by completing a side quest. After the completion of "Secure Wounded Hollow," you will take on another mission from Rex where you need to hunt two Ajarakans in Wounded Hollow. This is the quest titled "As Gatekeeper" and requires you to be HR 21. Once you complete this Optional Quest, you will receive the Powercharm!
How to Activate the Effects
To activate the effects of the Armorcharm and Powercharm, you will need to place them in your item bar or pouch. You can do so by going to your personal or pop-up camp, pressing on "Transfer Items" and directing them to your "Item Pouch."
There is a chance that you already received these two charms but they went straight to your chest and you probably did not notice, so make sure to check to get the most out of your builds.
