Capcom has finally addressed the long-running issue of players struggling to find Village NPCs after inviting them over for a free meal in Monster Hunter Wilds. Finally!
In a patch arriving this March 10, Capcom will fix several game-breaking issues and bugs in Ver. 1.000.05.00, including one where “The Meal Invitation event at Azuz and Sild does not occur on some occasions.” You can check out the full patch notes here.
This fix is especially welcome, as players have been consistently frustrated by missing NPCs—particularly Maki from Azuz and Tasheen from Sild. Sometimes, their icons fail to appear on the mini-map, and even when players locate them, they’re too busy to interact. Maki, in particular, is often unavailable during the Firespring Inclemency, as she’s preoccupied with assisting the Everforge with the Festival.
At least the Allhearken in Suja and the Y’Sai from Kunafa Village remain functional and unbugged. This is why many players prefer dining in those villages—especially Kunafa, thanks to its highly detailed animation of cheese naan, which even caused a particular Tokyo restaurant to run out of stock a few weeks ago.
This isn’t the only high-priority fix in the upcoming patch. Capcom has also addressed other issues, including UI glitches with Loadouts, monster behavior inconsistencies, and random skills triggering under certain conditions.
As for overall performance, Capcom is still working on fixing the dreadful PC version of the game. Currently, it holds a 50% negative rating on Steam, largely due to severe optimization issues.
Some character models even looked like they came straight out of the original PlayStation era, a flaw many players have mocked.
Monster Hunter Wilds’ PC version still has a long road ahead before it runs smoothly on recommended hardware.
However, despite its performance struggles, the game hit 1.3 million concurrent users on Steam at launch, making it the biggest Monster Hunter release to date.
