After playing Marathon for the first time, I became interested in extraction shooters. The only thing that caused me to stop playing was how sweaty each run was, but Mistfall Hunter looked different. It's set in a Nordic-inspired dark fantasy world, which combines my love for fantasy with shooters.

Watching clips of people playing through the ruins featuring fast-paced action with swords, spells, and parrying enemy strokes was so unique. Though the concept of a fantasy extraction is new, it felt so clean and polished. I was instantly hooked.

What has stopped me from purchasing the game so far are the reviews on Steam. It just launched, and it already has a "Mixed" rating. This is due to the number of bugs, which will be fixed eventually. That's why I'm seriously considering re-subscribing to Xbox Game Pass for $13.99. It lowers the risk, and it means I'll only have to pay less than half of the full price to play the game. I can dip my toes in, see if I like it, and keep my subscription if I do. If I don't, then I can cancel my subscription at any time.
