It has been four years since Skydance and Marvel Games announced Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, yet the game remains tightly under wraps. However, with its 2026 release is now nearing, gameplay footage has leaked online, giving fans a glimpse of what’s in store for this major Marvel title.

Sure, fans have already seen some cutscenes and a trailer for Marvel 1943, but its gameplay has largely remained a mystery.

However, MP1st stumbled upon some early development material that offers a first look at the game’s mechanics, along with new images showcasing its stunning environments.

The leak in question was reportedly posted by a developer who worked on the project, with the material believed to have been created between 2022 and 2023.

So before fans judge its visuals, it’s worth noting that what’s shown may not reflect the final look of the game and could still change during development.

The footage, which looks like a developer gameplay given its cinematic, overseer-style camera view, focuses solely on Black Panther battling multiple soldiers at once.

It also teases the level of environmental interactivity, as soldiers shatter bottles while firing and the king of Wakanda knocks over objects like chairs and tables, showing they’re movable and can be used against opponents.

Fans can also spot some core moveset elements, such as long-range attacks and dodge rolls. As Black Panther moves fluidly through his surroundings—jumping across obstacles and sprinting at high speed—it strongly suggests an agile, parkour-oriented combat style.

Unfortunately, Captain America does not appear in the leaked clip, likely because the footage is from an early development stage or because the artist was focused on Black Panther at the time. Still, it has fans eager to see what the Star-Spangled Avenger’s gameplay might bring.

Alongside the footage, several images reveal a third-person camera view as Black Panther explores an alley and a subway tunnel.

Another shot shows a grotto, hinting that part of the game will take place underground. There’s even a glimpse of a hotel, seemingly the same location where Black Panther is shown crashing through a window.

What is Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra About?

Inspired by the 2010 Marvel Comics limited series Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers, Marvel 1943 is set in Occupied Paris during World War II.

The game features Steve Rogers (Captain America) teaming up with Azzuri (Black Panther) as they work together to stop the rise of the terrorist organization Hydra.

What comes next for the game remains to be seen, but with the rumored PlayStation State of Play later this month and The Game Awards in December, fans may not have to wait long for a major reveal from Marvel.
