One of the more curious details in GTA 6's second trailer isn't an explosion, a car chase, or even the main characters. It's a postcard.
A split-second frame shows a colorful image tucked near a souvenir stand, and while it barely gets a moment of screen time, it's become the center of an intense fan investigation.
The postcard displays two oranges on the left and a sunglass-wearing sun on the right. It was nothing major at first, but then fans started zooming in, freezing frames, and matching it with leaked map sketches and past Rockstar teasers.
What was once seen as a minor environmental detail has quickly turned into one of the game's most debated theories. Some players immediately dismissed the idea that it could be a map, arguing that it's just a reference to classic Florida postcards.
However, some people pointed out an odd detail. The shape on the right, which was meant to represent the sun, appeared strikingly similar to the outline of Leonida. A few fans pointed out the inclusion of a panhandle-like curve and smaller chunks resembling island chains.
Others said it might be covering up a bigger map beneath it, partially hidden under visual clutter. That gave rise to a new theory: the postcard could be showing more than one region. It could be hinting at the possibility of two distinct landmasses.
Some fans suggest the left side could zoom in on the Keys, while the right side may depict the broader Leonida state. The sun with the face may double as a fun map overlay.
Another popular idea is that the two areas represent both Leonida and Gloriana — the latter being a yet-to-be-revealed neighboring state based on Georgia, hinted at through license plates and teaser names in other media. Of course, not everyone is buying it.
A chunk of the community insists it's just Rockstar poking fun at the community's tendency to overanalyze. The symmetry of the sun and the simplicity of the design make it easy to interpret as just a joke — a throwback to cheesy tourist merch rather than a map teaser.
Rockstar's history of sneaky trolling and red herrings makes this less surprising. Still, the theories are far from fading. The postcard has also led some to tie it back to earlier "Project Americas" leaks, which hinted at a game world spanning multiple countries or states.
There's a theory that this postcard supports the idea of unlocking additional regions as the story progresses, just like in Red Dead Redemption 2 with Guarma. Whether it's a genuine leak of the map or a postcard created to bait the overthinkers, Rockstar's knack for sparking debate has once again done its job.
Some are using Photoshop to dissect trailer frames, but others are just sitting back and enjoying the spectacle. Either way, the postcard has done its job: the mystery around GTA 6's world feels bigger than ever.
