A report from the New York Times featuring interviews with Rockstar's developers states, "The overall map, the studio said, is three times as large as the playable area of its previous game, Red Dead Redemption 2."

Additionally, YouTuber TGG, who was invited to the studio along with other content creators, shared even more details about the scale of GTA 6.

In his video, he stated, "Vice City itself is twice the size of Los Santos. And Vice City and its surrounding suburbs are 11 times bigger than Los Santos and its surroundings, which is, like, nuts, dude."

During an interview with IGN, Rockstar North's Head of Development, Rob Nelson, affirmed this. He stated the map will be huge, and that taking the time to explore every inch will be extremely rewarding.

Speaking about how GTA 6 is following in RDR2's footsteps, Nelson said, "GTA 6 is a continuation of our team pushing in this direction – doing everything we possibly can to create the largest, deepest, most densely populated and complex world we have ever built for people to get lost in."
