  • Key Update: The GTA 6 extended look special featured some interesting reveals about the new title, some more difficult to spot than others.
  • Status: Confirmed

  • Quick Answer: From how you treat animals to an honor system, we have a list of some hidden details from the GTA 6 Extended Look special.

GTA 6: An Extended Look finally arrived on Netflix, and subsequently on other platforms, officially revealing gameplay footage of the anticipated game. The special features 26 minutes of a blend of cinematics and gameplay, showcasing what the game will look like with footage recorded on a base PS5.

Although most things in the video are self-explanatory, we have gathered a list of the most interesting and easy-to-miss details revealed, or at least hinted at, in the special.

There's an Honor System

At the start of the video, we see Jason petting a dog inside the building. Right after that, an interesting icon appears in the middle-left of the screen. The animated icon is a smiley face, and a halo forms above it. This could be tied to the game's honor system.

The honor system from Red Dead Redemption 2 is making a comeback here, as every action of Jason and Lucia will have consequences. Treating a dog nicely will be one way to keep a good image.

You Can Be Sneaky When Stealing Cars

Now there is more than one way to steal cars. In previous games, you would just hold down a button to make the character forcefully enter a locked car, using any means such as breaking a window.

However, GTA 6 offers a choice when trying to get into a locked car: break a window or be sneaky using the slim jim method. The latter appears when Jason is trying to get into a red car, and both options show up on screen. This will give players a way to steal cars without starting a police chase or startling NPCs.

Azteca Gold

In typical Rockstar fashion, the extended look already shows some of the references to their other games. One of them comes right after the GTA VI logo appears at the start, when a woman is jogging, and a yellow delivery truck appears in the background with "Azteca Gold" written on the side.

This is a clear reference to one of the side missions in the first Red Dead Redemption.

A Cameo From the Wild Wild West

Azteca Gold might not be the only reference to Rockstar's other major franchise. During the section in Jason and Lucia's apartment, we can see an advert for a sandwich food chain that looks like Arby's. The Arby's reference might be easy to spot, but the person doing the voiceover could be a bit harder.

Although we don't have confirmation, many believe Roger Clark is the voice behind this advert. He is none other than the voice actor for Arthur Morgan, Red Dead Redemption 2's protagonist. Clark also did the motion capture work for the character.

Jason Always Keeps the Door Open for Lucia

Every time Jason walks in front and goes through a door in the special, he keeps it open until Lucia goes through. This animation might be a subtle and nice detail from Rockstar, reminding everyone that courtesy matters.

Hit Marker Colors

Throughout the special, we see that there are three hitmarker colors in the game: white, yellow, and red. From what we can see, it appears white will indicate a non-lethal hit on the enemy, yellow means the enemy has been incapacitated, and red simply means the enemy is dead.

Jason Can See Weak Spots

Almost at the end of the special, we see that Jason will have a slow-mo ability while on foot, just like Michael in GTA V. However, his ability looks a bit more interesting, since we can see it will also highlight weak spots on an enemy.

The spots are color-coded the same way as the hitmarkers, with the head red to indicate a deadly spot, and the knees and elbows in yellow to indicate an incapacitating spot.
