- Quick Answer: GTA 6 features sunny, rainy, cloudy, tropical storm, and hurricane weather types, driven by localized wind physics and dynamic cloudscapes across the map of Leonida.
On September 29, Game Informer dropped their much-anticipated 14-page cover story on GTA 6. There, fans got a glimpse of features the game will have.
Most of the things they revealed have never been confirmed, like the wildlife and new activities. However, what really caught people's attention is the new weather system. The scale is more than people imagined, which has raised expectations even more for November 19.
Here's everything you need to know about weather in GTA 6.
All Confirmed Weather Types in GTA 6
From the Game Informer GTA 6 cover piece, we were able to spot the following five main weather types:

- Tropical Storms
- Hurricanes
- Sunny
- Rainy
- Cloudy
However, Rockstar has stated that GTA 6 will feature fully dynamic cloudscapes, which will give players access to a broad spectrum of weather. This includes Miami's sunny winters and its autumn and spring, which are known for thunderstorms.
Explaining GTA 6's Dynamic Weather System
The weather system in GTA 6 isn't just for show - it actively affects you, your surroundings, and the NPCs. When it rains, even the wildlife will appear with drenched fur and feathers. Puddles will form near lamp posts and at street corners.

Additionally, just because it's raining in one part of Leonida doesn't mean it's raining everywhere. It could be raining in the Grass Rivers but sunny in Vice City.
Besides rain, GTA 6 will feature an updated wind system. In the report, Rockstar stated the game will feature "offshore breezes after sunset, convective updrafts, and occlusion from buildings." When on the roof, hair will swirl in the air, and debris will fly in the air. You'll also see how wind impacts the environment around you. For example, the water will ripple, and grass will bend.
It's currently unknown if things like hurricanes and storms will affect missions, but I wouldn't put it past Rockstar.
