- Quick Answer: Evo 2026 attendance has dropped due to increased costs, brand dilution, and competition from other events.
The Evo 2026 attendance has seen a significant drop in numbers from previous years. The event released a look at the final tally of competitors set to duke it out in Las Vegas later this June, reaching a total number of 7,904.
Last year's Evo 2025 had a total of 8,541 registered players across all major events. Doesn't look that bad at first glance; however, last year's edition only featured eight games in its main lineup, compared to 12 featured titles for 2026.

The most damning evidence that interest in Evo Las Vegas is fading at an alarming rate is Street Fighter 6. Still the most popular game at the event, Capcom's title managed 2,414 entrants, a steep decline from Evo 2025 (4,228). If we compare with this year's Evo Japan numbers, which saw the event earn a Guinness World Record for the largest offline bracket ever, amassing 7168 entrants, you can clearly see the FGC has largely turned its back on Las Vegas and the original successor of Battle by the Bay.
Multiple key factors play against Evo Las Vegas this year. The biggest issue is that it has simply gotten too costly for players. Travel expenses like flights, accommodation, food, plus the hefty registration fees that went upwards of $300 in some cases, were deemed not worth it.
Another issue is that Evo's brand has been diluting. I'm all for bringing Evo to different places like France, Japan, Mexico, Brazil, or Singapore, but at the end of the day, this will only cause bigger divides, as fans from those regions will lose all incentive to make a trip to Las Vegas.
In any case, expect some crazy sets and, hopefully, cool announcements from developers at Evo 2026, which is happening June 26-28
