- Quick Answer: Eisuke 'Yamaguchi' Yamaguchi won the Evo Japan 2026 Street Fighter 6 tournament with an undefeated record and qualified for Capcom Cup 13.
ZETA Division's Eisuke Yamaguchi just made history by winning the biggest fighting game tournament of all time, taking home the Evo Japan trophy for Street Fighter 6, beating Victor "PunkDaGod" Woodley in the grand finals.
In an event with over 7k entrants, Yamaguchi had to run through a gauntlet of incredible players, going undefeated with a 13-0 record. The Mai player beat opponents such as Capcom Cup champion Sahara, NuckleDu, Higuchi, and the aforementioned Punk in grand finals with a clean 3-1, not even allowing for a reset.

This is undeniably Yamaguchi's biggest win as a competitor, having previously placed 9th at Evo France 2025, 13th at Evo Las Vegas 2025, and 17th at Blink Respawn 2025.
Yamaguchi is now the first player qualified for Capcom Cup 13 via a Premier event of the 2025-26, as Sahara did so by winning this year's Cup, and Tokido, Fuudo, Daigo, and Leshar did so by winning the Street Fighter League Championship. Not only that, but he also qualified for the Esports World Cup alongside Punk.
