Next-generation Vice President Jason Ronald has revealed that you will be able to redeem a digital entitlement of any physical Xbox disc to your account. To do so, you will have to insert an Xbox Series X or Xbox One disc into your console and launch the game to redeem the digital version. This will allow you to play the game without the need to insert a disc.

Redeeming the entitlement allows you to experience the benefits of Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud. Thousands of titles will reportedly be supported during the beta, with more to be added over time.

Ronald stated, "This is part of our broader commitment to game preservation. As technology, devices, and distribution continue to evolve, preserving access to the games people own matters more than ever."

Xbox Insiders will begin testing this feature on August 31. It's unknown when the feature will be available for all users, as the post simply stated that it is coming soon.
