  • Quick Answer: Rockstar Games has not confirmed if Shark Cards will return, as GTA 6 is currently marketed as a single-player experience with no multiplayer or online mode announced.

Shark Cards were and still are a major part of GTA Online, which has led many to wonder if they will make a comeback in GTA 6.

For those unaware, Shark Cards are optional in-game microtransaction vouchers that can be used to buy in-game currency (GTA$) using real money. This then allows players to bypass the time and grinding required to afford premium items, properties, and vehicles.

The question is: Will they be featured in GTA 6? Here's what we know so far.

For reference, GTA Online makes $800 million to $1 billion yearly just from the sale of Shark Cards alone. It feels unlikely that Rockstar would drop a huge moneymaker for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game. However, it remains unconfirmed and is purely speculation at this point.

We aren’t even sure if there will be a need for Shark Cards, as Rockstar Games hasn’t announced an online mode for GTA 6 yet. This will likely arrive in the coming months, but if they do implement Shark Cards, it’s also possible that they will be renamed to be more specific to the upcoming installment.
