Who says the devs at Marvel Rivals don’t have a sense of humor?

Venom is, rather surprisingly, one of the more sexualized male characters in the game, and as a little treat for fans, the devs have decided to add an emote that will have Venom twerking.

Venom Twerking in Marvel Rivals

As fans have pointed out, the newest update for Marvel Rivals adds some things to Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure and one of them is an emote that will let Venom throw it back.

And here’s the emote being used in-game:

With the Marvel brand being as conservative as it is, a lot of fans wouldn’t think that an emote of Venom twerking would ever make it to the game, but it looks like it’s innocent enough not to spark any outrage in the gaming community.

If anything, some people think that this is actually NetEase’s idea of an April Fools joke; and a lot of people online seem to be pretty happy with it. After all the sexualized Venom memes coming out online, twerking was probably the tamest emote they could do for the fans who are in on the joke.

Now only if they can do the same thing for Captain America to really lean in on that “America’s Ass” joke from Avengers: Endgame.

How to Unlock Venom’s Twerk Emote

Players can actually earn the emote via Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure event which will be available from April 1-6.

It’s possible that it could also come to the shop to be a purchasable item, but for now, it does seem like the only way to get it is through the limited time event.

Marvel Rivals

For now, Season 1 of Marvel Rivals is already setting its sun, and everyone is gearing up for the next season and the special goods that come with it.

With the first season focusing on the Fantastic Four and the arrival of Dracula with Eternal Night Falls, rumors are going around that Season 2 is going to be the ‘Dawn of the Mutants’ with NetEase planning on dropping several mutant characters including Emma Frost, Jean Grey, and Cyclops (among others).

Data miners have also said that a new map is coming in the form of the X-Mansion—complete with the X-Men’s Danger Room. They may not be mutants, but there have also been leaks of other incoming playable characters including the killer robot Ultron as well as the Daywalker Blade.

It’s not clear when NetEase will make their official announcement, but with April coming next week, it’s possible they could make the reveal then. After a successful launch last December, Marvel Rivals looks like the devs have enough content planned for the first year, and this Overwatch clone looks to be having a prolonged live service for years to come.

With Marvel Studios currently on their road to the release of Avengers: Doomsday next year, Marvel Games would do good to make sure the games are in sync with what's going to be happening on Marvel movies and television.
