Now that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is official, fans are discussing the best games in this extreme sports series. While it’s hard to pick which official game is on top, it’s much easier if fan projects are in the mix. Fans wanting the most complete game in the series must check out THUG PRO.

THUG PRO is a mod of Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, with a ton of new features that weren’t in the original game. If you can only play one game in the series, it should be this fanmade mod because it essentially adds every level from the series. We aren’t even kidding about that, as the game has levels from Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground and even includes cut parks from older titles.

It’s an astonishing amount of work for a mod, and the fact that it has full online multiplayer is something these developers need to be proud of. Like the modern WWE games, fans can download custom characters, skate parks, and more within this mod.

It's hard to believe this was all done with a mod for Underground 2.

Considering how THUG PRO essentially adds all the levels fans will ever need, we’re shocked that Activision Blizzard hasn’t made their own game like this. I was only slightly shocked because game companies want to continue selling products, so releasing one ultimate edition would make future entries feel inadequate.

While PC fans should check out this incredible Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater mod, we’re not sure if newer games will appreciate this. After all, this is a mod of Tony Hawk’s Underground 2, so it looks like a PS2 game. It’s not a horrible-looking PS2 game, but it doesn’t compare to the 1+2 or 3+4 remastered editions.

We still think that fans of extreme sports should love THUG PRO. Its community-oriented approach ensures this game will have content for the rest of its life. It might not look as good as the recent remasters, but this content-filled game could theoretically be the last Tony Hawk game fans need.

Fans who don’t want to tinker with an old PS2 game can skip this and pick up the Tony Hawk remasters. Fans everywhere agree that 1+2 was an excellent start to this remaster series, with 3+4 looking like a solid continuation. Still, curious fans can check out the official THUG PRO website and see what they’re missing.
