Dispatch has taken the gaming world by storm. Indie developer AdHoc Studios has knocked it out of the park with its first video game. You can tell former Telltale Games developers are behind the project, as it's a high-quality, incredibly polished interactive experience that features a top-tier voice cast, memorable character design, and a strong narrative that has fans hooked and ready for weekly releases.
Part of what has made Dispatch interesting is exactly that: the weekly releases. AdHoc banked on building excitement continuously by allowing each episode to have breathing room, allowing for fan theories and discussion to flourish. Granted, had the story been dull, this wouldn't have worked as well as it has.
Some are very outlandish, but nonetheless fun. So, what are the most interesting Dispatch theories? Let's dive deep!
The Craziest Dispatch Theories
Before I begin, let me preface this article by stating that there will be minor spoilers for the first four Episodes of Dispatch. Also, while none of these theories are confirmed leaks of the story, some may end up becoming true. You've been warned.
Who Is Shroud?
One of the biggest mysteries in Dispatch is Shroud. The former hero turned villain who betrayed Robert's dad and destroyed the Mecha Man suit hasn't been seen since episode 1.
A big outlandish theory is that Shroud is actually Chase, the former speedster Track Star. While the game states that Shroud is actually Elliot Connors, there are a few hints that indicate Chase is actually the man behind the recent Mecha Man's constant tragedies.
Could the Astral Pulse be the key to helping with his aging problem? In any case, voice actor Matt Mercer is credited as the voice of Shroud. Perhaps this is a way for AdHoc to keep the real identity of Shroud a secret...
Did Invisigal Planted The Bomb That Blew Up Mecha Man?
Everyone loves a good plot twist, and one of the biggest rumors is that Invisigal, formerly known as Invisibitch, was the one who helped Shroud destroy the Mecha Man suit.
The reason why she's so coy about her past is that she joined the Phoenix Program under the condition that she's particularly tied to the fate of Mecha Man. It doesn't really explain her weird fixation with Robert. However, it's clearly established that Invisigal is a complete agent of chaos.
Blonde Blazer's Real Identity
Blonde Blazer is definitely more than meets the eye. She's initially presented as an upstanding superheroine who takes pride in trying to reform former villains as they seek to turn their lives around via the Superhero Dispatch Network (SDN) program.
The ending of episode 4 has a massive reveal if you choose to have dinner with Blazer. She's actually not blonde and is slightly shorter. That may not seem like much, but things just don't happen without reason. So who really is Blonde Blazer?
There are two big theories floating around: she's Shroud's daughter, or Invisigal's sister. The first could lend itself to the idea that she's trying to help him reform his image, as she may believe Shroud was framed for the murder of Mecha Man. The second one would also explain why she's adamant about helping Invisigal turn her life around.
