- Quick Answer: Take-Two filed DMCA subpoenas against Microsoft and Discord seeking user records and internal investigative data to uncover the identity of GTA 6 leaker CyberLeek.
This week, the internet went into a frenzy after CyberLeek released several gameplay clips of Grand Theft Auto 6.
Not only did they showcase clips of unreleased gameplay, but they also shared several details hinting at features such as in-game currency. Rockstar Games wasted no time in filing DMCA takedowns to take the clips off social media, but at that point, thousands of people had seen them. And it seems they have no signs of slowing down, with a new clip being posted today.
Now, it has been revealed that Take-Two - the parent company of Rockstar Games - has filed multiple subpoenas to trace the leaker.
Take-Two Files Subpoenas to Track GTA 6 Leaker
Take-Two has reportedly filed multiple subpoenas in federal court to find information on the individual (or group) leaking GTA 6 gameplay. The company has specifically subpoenaed Microsoft and Discord to track down the leaker's accounts.

They have given Microsoft until September 4 to produce “all internal Microsoft business records and investigative records associated with Microsoft’s internal investigation of the ‘cyberleek’ persona sufficient to identify the user(s), person(s) and/or entity/ies associated with that persona.”
Discord has the same deadline to provide records related to users CYBERLEEK, CINEMATICROCKSTAR, and Surfer24k, as well as any of their past handles. They are also investigating servers where the leak may have been shared, such as Odyssey's public brand guild and streamer Matthew "Matt" Judge's server.

A subpoena filed with the Southern District Court states, "The copyrighted material includes but is not limited to audiovisual content, artwork, images, dialogue, or other creative elements. Take-Two, through its counsel of record, has submitted a sworn declaration confirming that the purpose for which the DMCA subpoena is sought is to obtain the identity of an alleged infringer or infringers, and that such information will only be used for the purpose of protecting Take-Two’s right [...]."
As of this writing, the identity of CyberLeek has yet to be revealed. People aren't even sure if CyberLeek is an individual or a group. Though their website was shut down, they are still finding ways to share footage and info on Telegram, Discord, and other means.
CyberLeek has stated they are sharing these leaks to protest Rockstar's choice of an all-digital GTA 6 release, but it also appears they are uploading these clips to promote their memecoin and profit off that.
