All Sword of the Sea Trophies and Achievements + How to Earn Them
1. Cleanse the Lost Grotto
During the 2nd level, work to return water to the Lost Grotto.
2. Nice Combo!
Land a 5x combo by doing fun, alternating tricks in a sequence without touching the ground. The trick here is to extend your combo by bouncing on jellyfish, grinding, and wallriding to stay off the base. As for jellifish jumping, jump back and forth between two different jellyfish, or a new one for each bounce, to extend the combo count.
3. Loyal Customer
Trade a total of 8550 Astra to a mysterious vendor to earn five rewards. Astra are golden triangular bits you can collect by traversing the vast topography within Sword of the Sea.
The mysterious vendor appears in random places along the main path as you continue your journey. So, no need to return to their previous spawn point to trade Astra.
- 50 Astra: Tricks reward.
- 500 Astra (total 550 Astra): Spin Tricks reward.
- 1000 Astra (total 1550 Astra): Drop reward.
- 2000 Astra (total 2550 Astra): Super Jump reward.

Discover a total of 11 secret shells in the Sacred River.
5. Cleanse the Shadow Tundra
During the 4th level, work to return water to the Shadow Tundra.
6. Bullfrog
Look for and find the bullfrog on a rooftop, behind a shark statue. This rooftop is near the exit, and hence easy to spot.
7. Shadow Tundra Shell Collector
Discover and find a total of 11 secret shells in the Tundra Shell.
8. Frog Skeleton
Reach the Boiling Cavern's 2nd level and look for a water ball near a large door. Here, check for a boat nearby, and look above its lantern to find the frog skeleton.
9. Speed Surfer
Complete the entire game in just under two hours. However, the timing does not include being on the menu or cutscenes.
10. Frozen Drifts Shell Collector
Find one secret secret shell in the Frozen Drifts' 5th level.
11. Desert Rain Frog
Head over to the first level, Veiled Sea. Here, get around to the right side of the waterfall.
12. Sacred River Shell Collector
Look for all 11 secret shells in the Boiling Cavern seventh level.
13. Lost Grotto Shell Collector
Search out all 11 secret shells in the Lost Grotto second level.
14. Long Distance Jumper
Cover a large distance without touching the ground. During New Game+, you will get trick boosts to enhance your skills.
15. Poison Dart Frog
Look for the Poison Dart Frog in the Sacred River on the sixth level.
16. Great Score
Earn a game-wide score of 1,000,000 points. In New Game+, you receive a 2x score bonus at the end of the game if you choose a two-hour speedrun. Use this and jellyfish combo to boost your points before ending the game.
17. Pro Surfer
Collect all other trophies in the Sword of the Sea to unlock Platinum. You do not need DLC for this.
18. Tile Finder
Collect a total of 10 glowing blue fish tiles. You will find them scattered across every level, and stepping on them will give you Astra as a reward.
19. Cool Combo!
Ride walls, use jellyfish, and more tricks to land a 10x combo for the first time.
20. Awesome Combo!
Similar to Cool Combo!, chain a round of different tricks to achieve a 20x combo.
21. Cleanse the Frozen Drifts
This is a trophy during your fifth level. Return all the water to the Frozen Drifts.
22. Cleanse the Sacred River
This is a trophy during your sixth level. Return all the water to the Sacred River.
23. Cleanse the Forbidden Valley
This is a trophy during your third level. Return all the water to the Forbidden Valley.
24. Boiling Cavern Shell Collector
Discover all five secret shells in the Boiling Cavern in the seventh level.
25. Horned Frog
Look for the Horned Frog in the Frozen Tundra. Here, after you surpass the gold bell, head over to the large open area and check over the tallest platform to find the Horned Frog.
26. Treasure Tracker
Open a total of 10 treasure chests. Fortunately, these chests reset during Chapter Select and New Game+, so you can open more treasure chests as you progress.
27. Trick Attack Seeker
Find all four Trick Attack areas. These are all located in the "exploration" areas, namely:
- Lost Grotto
- Veiled Sea
- Shadow Tundra
- Sacred River
28. Trick Attack Expert
Fight against and beat the target score of all four trick attack areas. There are assigned time limits to trick attack areas, which range between 40 and 60 seconds.
29. Veiled Sea Shell Collector
Collect all 10 secret shells in the Veiled Sea- First level.
30. Water Whisperer
Look for and find all 50 secret shells throughout Sword of the Sea. You can trade these for the final reward.
31. Archelon Rider
Ride on an Archelon after you activate the main water point at the top of the building in Lost Grotto. These are big turtle-like animals that you will find in the Lost Grotto 2nd level.
32. Blue Whale Rider
After you activate the main water point at the top of the Sacred River tower on the 6th level, ride on a blue whale. And if you fall from the blue whale, you can reach out for the kelp, which appears to reach the tower top, and hop on a blue whale.
33. Humpback Rider
Ride on a Humpback Whale after you activate the main water point at the top of the big statue's hand in Frozen Tundra 4th level.
34. Orca Rider
Ride an Orca after you activate the left-side chain’s water in the Veiled Sea first level. These orcas swim laps around certain areas, so you can jump on them and jump off in a preset position and earn your reward.
35. Cleanse the Veiled Sea
Return all the water in the Veiled Sea, first level.
36. Elasmosaur Rider
You receive this reward when you ride an Elasmosaur for the first time. Head over to Frozen Tundra's fourth level to ride one after activating an additional water point.
37. Whale Shark Rider
After activating the ship's progression-related water point at Sacred River's sixth level, ride a Whale Shark.
38. Sperm Whale Rider
Sperm Whales are also located at the sixth level of the Sacred River. After activating the 1st progression-related water point in the large circular room, you can ride a Sperm Whale.
39. Water Rider
Ride the water rail four times in a row, and don't touch the ground midway to break the combo. Water rails exist within the Sacred River's sixth level. To ease your movements, bounce over jellyfish to keep your momentum.
40. Wisdom of the Ancients
Read all the Stele messages that are scattered throughout the game. These are stone pillars you find on each level, and they offer in-game lore when you activate them.
41. New High Score
Beat your very own high score at the end of your Sword of the Sea gameplay. This is quite effortless in New Game+ thanks to the 2x bonus that activates if you beat the game in under two hours.
42. Sword of the Sea
Complete Sword of the Sea for the first time and watch the end credits.
43. Forbidden Valley Shell Collector
Find every secret shell in the Forbidden Valley's third level.
44. New Game Plus Completed
Finish the full Sword of the Sea playthrough for the 2nd time in New Game+ and watch the end credits.
45. Untouchable
Untouchable is the most challenging trophy in Sword of the Sea. Defeat the end boss "Tornamun" without taking any damage. Tornamun unlocks after you finish the end credits, and you can use Chapter Select to retry the fight if you take a hit or lose.
And since there are no checkpoints during this final fight, taking damage means you need to complete the final level all over again. This, unfortunately, includes watching the end credits as well as the cutscene.
Hence, instead of trying to earn 'Untouchable' from your first playthrough, use your initial fights for practice and timing, and retry through Chapter Select to earn the achievement.
