The Star Fox Switch 2 remake has officially been announced.

Set to release on June 25, the upcoming Star Fox game is a remake of Star Fox 64. While the level layouts and story will remain loyal to the original source material, fans can expect some major changes for a more elevated gaming experience.

What's New in the Switch 2 Star Fox Remake?

One of the changes that players will notice concerns the controls. For the Star Fox remake, Switch 2 mouse controls have been added. Additionally, two players can play together, sharing a Joy-Con. One friend will control the Arwing, while the other will control the ship's guns.

If you want that retro feel, the Star Fox remake will support the Nintendo Switch Online N64 Controller.

Star Fox on the Switch 2 will feature eight-player online battles. It's a 4v4 team-based mode featuring Team Star Fox vs Team Star Wolf. You can play on three different maps: Corneria, Fichina, and Sector Y. Each map has different objectives.

Online play also allows you to use the Switch 2's GameChat and compatible characters to apply AR filters and transform into Fox, Falco, Slippy, or Peppy. These ARs sync their lip movements and expressions to the player's face in real-time.
