New reports claim that Konami and Bloober Team’s upcoming Silent Hill 1 Remake has actually been in development for the past three years. But what could this mean for the game’s potential release date?
The report was highlighted by none other than reputable horror game insider @AestheticGamer1, also known as Dusk Golem. He stated that Silent Hill 1 “started dev around 3 years ago roughly.” He also noted that the release dates for both Silent Hill 1 Remake and Silent Hill Townfall may have been swapped, potentially due to development issues.
Dusk Golem added that Konami isn’t rushing any Silent Hill projects, though he suggested that the release timelines could still change depending on how development progresses.

Fans have also been wondering whether the rumored “Born from a Wish” DLC for Silent Hill 2 Remake will see the light of day. The DLC is said to be a narrative-focused side story featuring Maria as the protagonist. Dusk Golem responded that Konami is still “cooking,” but no concrete evidence has surfaced yet. He mentioned he plans to dig deeper for more specific information.
As it stands, Silent Hill Townfall, the arthouse reimagining of the series developed in collaboration with Annapurna Interactive, is now expected to launch sometime next year. Silent Hill 1 Remake may be pushed further to 2027.
The only confirmed Silent Hill title arriving this year is Silent Hill F, which has already begun marketing ahead of its scheduled release on September 25, 2025.
Konami’s focus moving forward will likely center on both Silent Hill F and the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater remake.
It’s still a promising time for Silent Hill fans, who have been starved of content from their favorite franchise for nearly two decades. With Silent Hill 2 Remake now released and receiving rave reviews, all eyes are turning toward Hinako’s story in Silent Hill F.
