Just days before the Summer Games Fest, Sony has announced that they will be having a State of Play presentation this week. Considering the hype surrounding Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest, it is shocking to see PlayStation do its own thing. Regardless of this, PS5 users will probably hear news of some great games coming soon.

The PlayStation Blog has confirmed that this State of Play event will premiere on June 4 at 2 PM PT. Fans can expect 40-plus minutes of new game trailers and gameplay footage of titles that were previously announced. It’s a very exciting time for gamers, and we’re sure games like Ghost of Yotei will be shown off.

Many fans are also hoping that this is the event where Capcom’s rumored Resident Evil 9 will be announced. Rumors for this particular game have been pretty strong lately, so it would be shocking if the horror franchise’s new entry doesn’t debut here. Then again, Capcom might end up saving this game for Keighley’s Summer Games Fest.

Other fans are also hoping that we get updates from games like Marvel’s Wolverine, which still hasn’t had any gameplay trailers. Sure, there was that leak, but nothing else has been revealed since. With the cancellations of Wonder Woman and Black Panther, this X-Men game might be more important than ever.
