A new year has started in Overwatch with Reign of Talon Season 1, and in the most recent Spotlight event, Blizzard confirmed that the game is headed for the Nintendo Switch 2.
The latest hybrid console from Nintendo launched in June last year, and many games released on the original Switch have received an updated version to make use of the new hardware's capabilities. Now it's time for the popular hero shooter, and we know when the port will come out.
When Does Overwatch Come Out for Nintendo Switch 2?
As announced in the Spotlight event, Overwatch will release for the Nintendo Switch 2 when Season 2 launches. According to the in-game battle pass page, Season 2 is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 14.
This means the game will launch on a new console only a month before the 10th anniversary of the original title's launch (May 24, 2016).

The Switch 2 version should go live as soon as the Season 2 patch rolls out, which means it will come out at 11:00 AM PT (7:00 PM GMT).
What New Features Will the Switch 2 Version Have?
At the time of writing, new features for the Switch 2 version of Overwatch 2 have not been announced. We can only assume this port will take advantage of the mouse controls and allow users to play as if they are using a PC.
Better graphics resolution and a higher frame rate are also in the cards, as the new hybrid console has more power than its predecessor and should be able to run this game at higher specs without compromising performance.
