Blizzard has ditched the 2 and adopted a yearly storyline format for Overwatch, with The Reign of Talon being the first. This will run throughout 2026 and is set to begin with Season 1: Conquest.

While we wait for the season to start, we have gathered all the details about the new content coming to the game that was announced at the Overwatch Spotlight event.

When Does Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 1 Start?

Overwatch Reign of Talon Season 1 is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 10, on all platforms. The content will go live at exactly 11:00 AM PT (7:00 PM GMT), as is the case with every new season.

PC players can preload the patch through the Battle.net launcher a few days before its release, while preloads for console owners will start a few hours before launch.

Conquest Event

A new event titled Conquest will take place across five weeks, and players will have to choose a side between Overwatch and Talon. Each side will get missions tied to the lore each week, and the faction with the most successful missions will receive a reward.

Here are some of the rewards available during the whole event:

  • 75 Base Lootboxes
  • 12 Epic Lootboxes
  • 7 Legendary Lootboxes
  • 9 new Voice Lines
  • 31 2D Cosmetics
  • 2 Weapon Charms
  • 1 of 2 faction-themed Legendary Echo skins
  • Exclusive new Rare, Epic and Legendary titles (and a secret hidden one!)

Competitive Reset

Just like every year, the competitive ladder will be refreshed with this new season. Not only will every player have to do the placement matches to get a rank, but there will be new rewards for those who plan to grind Competitive.

The Crimson Wolf weapon skin will substitute the Galactic weapon skin, becoming this year's main competitive reward. Players can unlock the Crimson Wolf skin for a hero by spending 3000 Competitive points. The other three skins (Gold, Jade, and Galactic) can be acquired using Legacy Points.

On top of that, players who reached Diamond or a higher rank will receive a special Doomfist competitive skin with the same colors as the Crimson Wolf weapon skin.

Skins and Mythics

The season will bring three mythics, two mythic skins, and one mythic weapon skin. Mercy will become the first hero to receive a second mythic skin with the Celestial Guardian mythic skin.
