Thanks to a PlayStation Store leak, it seems an Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter 6 crossover is coming sooner rather than later.

Blizzard may not have made it official yet, but players are already catching on, and it seems like a game-changing collaboration. The leak comes from an archived PSN page that mentions a mid-season event for Overwatch 2's Season 16 and links it directly to Capcom’s Street Fighter 6.

A teaser of the description revealed new additions to the Stadium mode, including a Dokiwatch Mythic Mercy Weapon Skin as the main highlight. In case you haven't heard, Stadium is a new mode for this season, pitting 5v5 teams against each other in a best-of-seven series, with players earning Stadium Cash for upgrades throughout the match.

This crossover comes hot on the heels of Overwatch 2’s recent Gundam event and fits into Blizzard’s broader push to keep the game fresh through frequent collabs. Even though there’s some doubt about the event's timing, especially with another crossover happening, a lot of players are eager to see what a Capcom-themed celebration could offer.

Though the leak didn’t specify which heroes would receive Street Fighter skins, fans haven’t held back in speculating (and getting a bit wild). Some of the most popular suggestions included Sigma as M. Bison, Zarya as Marisa, Lucio as Dee Jay, and Winston as Blanka.

Others lobbied for a Chun-Li skin for either Kiriko or Mei, while Sombra, Widowmaker, and even Echo were brought up in debates around who could pull off a Juri cosplay best. Speculation is also rife about a Dictator skin for Ramattra or a Ken-inspired look for Doomfist.

While many are onboard, some players aren't thrilled with the decision to repeat skins for favorites like Kiriko, Mercy, and D.Va, especially when less popular heroes like Venture and Symmetra are still being ignored. Some worried that constant back-to-back collaborations could make the game's pace feel overwhelming, especially for players trying to catch up on cosmetics.

Despite some grumbling, the reaction has generally been excited, particularly because Overwatch's and Street Fighter's visual styles mesh so well. The crossover appears to be locked in for around May 20, based on file names and timeline references within the leaked promotional assets.

As Blizzard gears up for the event, players can anticipate themed cosmetics, exclusive skins, and potentially other surprise rewards in Stadium mode. It's still unclear if the crossover will include Street Fighter-themed challenges or mini-events, but excitement is already building.

Until Blizzard drops the official word, we can only speculate—but the combination of leaks and fan predictions has already made this Overwatch 2 x Street Fighter 6 crossover one of the most thrilling mid-season events yet.
