The game comes out on September 3, 2026. You play as Miyamoto Musashi, an Oni Gauntlet-wielding samurai, who fights against the demon Genma in early Edo-period Kyoto. It's the first mainline installment of the Onimusha series since Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams (2006).

Onimusha: Way of the Sword Editions & Prices

There are four Onimusha: Way of the Sword editions: the Standard Edition, the Deluxe Edition, the Premium Deluxe Edition, and the SteelBook Edition.

The Standard Edition is priced at $69.99 and only comes with the base game.

The Deluxe Edition, on the other hand, is priced at $79.99 and comes with the Deluxe Kit, which includes three charms, four sword appearances, a custom Red Armor for Musashi, and the Crimson Lotus Oni Gauntlet.

The Premium Deluxe Edition costs $89.99 and comes with the Deluxe Kit and the Premium Kit. The Premium Kit includes the hoari skins, Okumi and Oni Lady outfits, and the official digital in-game soundtrack.

Lastly, the SteelBook Edition is priced at $74.99. It comes with the physical game and a SteelBook.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword Pre-Order Bonuses

If you pre-order Onimusha: Way of the Sword, you get extra bonuses to your game.

Pre-ordering the digital Standard Edition scores you the Lion Dog charm and the Sealed Curse sword appearance. Select vendors may also give away a SteelBook case, an exclusive A1 poster, and reversible cover art sheep.

Meanwhile, pre-ordering the Deluxe and Premium Deluxe Edition scores you the same bonuses as the Standard Edition, as well as the White Monkey Charm and White Lion sword appearance.
