No Man’s Sky just can’t stop giving away free content!

After a series of cryptic tweets (Sean Murray does this all the time), No Man’s Sky: Relics has finally been revealed. Titled The Relics Update, this is No Man’s Sky’s latest expansion, following the massive Worlds Part 2 update that gave players an entirely new sandbox universe to explore.

In Relics, Travellers can step into the role of would-be paleontologists and archaeologists, uncovering fossils across the galaxy. Players can even create and display their own fossil exhibits in makeshift space museums, adding hours of new content for sci-fi explorers.

A brand-new expedition focused on archaeology is also on the way, letting players visit dig sites and unearth buried fossils across various planets. Fossil hunting also introduces bartering mechanics, allowing players to trade for rare discoveries. But be warned—these fossils are buried for a reason. A new enemy type, the Stone Ghosts and Golems, serve as ancient guardians, ensuring that excavation won’t be an easy task.

Other additions in this update include the Basilisk Staff, Bone Broth, a Skeletal Companion, and Titanic Boneworms—because what’s an adventure without some massive space-dwelling creatures?

The Relics Update marks the 35th expansion for No Man’s Sky since its rocky launch in August 2016. What was once a game marred by controversy has evolved into one of gaming’s greatest redemption stories, keeping players engaged for thousands of hours.

Despite working on their next game, Light No Fire, Hello Games isn’t slowing down. As always, more updates will follow even after Relics launches.
