Rumors are strongly pointing to the possibility that Atlus’ two acclaimed JRPGs will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, with an official announcement expected during today’s Nintendo Direct.

Speculation has been swirling for some time that Metaphor: ReFantazio and Persona 3 Reload would make their way to the new hybrid console. A year ago, prominent Atlus leaker Midori hinted that both games could be arriving soon, and today’s Direct could finally be the moment they’re revealed.

The event will be a Partner Showcase, which means it will only focus on third-party titles coming to the platform. It’s set to run for about 25 minutes, and fans are already buzzing with predictions. Among the most anticipated reveals are the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong and a potential full release of Hades II on the Switch platform.

Metaphor: ReFantazio, one of Atlus’ newest IPs, was developed by the same team behind the best-selling modern Persona titles. The game recently surpassed 2 million copies sold, an impressive feat for a new franchise. Built using the same engine as Persona 5 Royal and Catherine: Full Body, both of which already run well on the original Switch, it's easy to see why a Switch 2 release would make sense, especially with Atlus already familiar with the engine and hardware.

Persona 3 Reload, meanwhile, is Atlus’ first remake in the beloved Persona series. It runs on Unreal Engine 4, which hasn’t always performed well on the base Switch. However, with the Switch 2 boasting significantly stronger hardware, reportedly capable of handling titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Persona 3 Reload should run smoothly on the new system.

The Nintendo Direct is scheduled to go live at 6:00 AM PT / 9:00 AM ET, just under four hours from now.
